Make Your Own Conference???

Posted on June 27, 2018

We wrapped up our geogebra; people wnat to do it again next year.

Next thing on my calendar math related is “twitter math camp” which is actually a 501c3.   The person at the table who didn’t get into tMc  had not, I believe, been aware that the window of opportunity was 36 hours.   I’m contemplating the idea of limiting it to.. what is it, 90 people or so?     and just how big that is/ isn’t.   (I’ll find out, eh?)

So the person who was going to put out a “how to do a local version of conferences” has not, I don’t think, done that.

Well, here’s what I’ve learned:   it really doesn’t take much!

That said:   that’s because the personalities involved and it being FREE made it work.   The things I did NOT do as far as basic hospitality?   Everything.   Well, I brought muffins and we had a coffee maker.

So the twitter math camp is an official non profit org. so it’s organized.   I’m not.

Lots to think about!
