Bicycle repairs and prep for bke trip mid-June…. Power In Numbers project that will wrap up in anotehr week, Digital Learning Lab folks coming here today!… the usual students dropping in… and also waiting on ‘permissions’ to start framing the “beta project” for designing …

… well, for starters, I don’t think I should call it a textbook.   It’s not.   It’s going to hvae some text, but … not in book form.    “Course materials,” perhaps.  (Refusing to try to think of something more grandiose.  I made 3 borderline pithy tweets this a.m. already.)

Social media also included chats about grad and post-grad “publishing,” which made me wonder whether to consider seeking out oh, somebody who might want to actually do research w/ this stuff.

So the ‘project’ would be to make/adapt course materials for cognitive accessibility.  Would somebody over at https://fluidproject.org/  help?   (Fluid is a project of the Inclusive Design Research Centre at OCAD University, funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.    CAST?

I was contemplating content on the ride in.  Perhaps an accessible module for conversions, given the questions at my session at FSI? Accessible and abstract, though?   So that while yes, you’re learning in the context of a Career Thing,  you’re learning math, not an arbitrary ritual with symbols, so that … comprehension of those fraction things is incorporated into it.

That said, I don’t want to have little modules here and there.   One of the important aspects of the ‘accessibility’ is that things have structure and framework (which is where I’d want to bring in somebody who knows more about that than I do, or one or two somebodies, tho’ that risks getting lost in discussions and debates … erm, yea, need a project manager 😉 )   I love the way the openupresources materials blend from concrete to complex.
