The Sieve

Posted on July 20, 2017

The very last lesson in Chapter 1 in Modumath is about prime numbers.

It could and should be a delightful review and summary of division.   It feels like what it probably is — isolated from division.   I found this video that explains the sieve of Eratosthenes and it’s long but includes explaining that we don’t have to do 10 because it’s already been included with all those multiples of two… and that the fives end in 5 or 0…

So it’s 4:10 and NOBODY IS HERE 🙂  not enough time to ORGANIZE things so I shall do as threatened and… go back and make good on either the Canvas Facts Fluency project or… division.   Yes, I did do beginnings of multiplication as arrays and repeated addition and rates.   No, it looks like I didn’t get to division at all.

Once again, though… I need other people and 12 hours/week dedicated to this.   Once again I’ll keep trying to figure out how to do that.  Any riding tomorrow will be early… heat advisory…
