Sometimes students resist tackling new content because we’re just making things more complicated than they think necessary.
Why should we say 11 + -8 instead of 11 – 8?
If Ferocious Football Player 1 gains 11 yards, and then LessFerocious Player lost 8… did we *take away* 8 yards from the first guy? No. That second guy went backwards. Both of those things happened going forward in time.
Just thinking. Now, back to … getting the resume & cover letter together…
