There was a time you could search your computer for a file and it would find it really quickly.
Whether it’s the Camtasia movie that — I was here, I saw it when I made it! — doesn’t seem to exist any more, or the notes from the meeting last month… no, files now really do just … disappear. There’s some Algorithm of Unworthiness or something… and the fact that a search that once took less than three seconds now takes 5 minutes also annoys.
I’ll be doing more printing of notes — not sure what to do about … movies… I’m reasonably sure that I’ll be able to dig and find it but this ‘well, you put it in a different folder than the default, so it won’t show up as recent’ is stinky.
