   So the student comes down for a “homework coupon” — okay, *three* homework coupons.   You can have up to six in the semester, and they’re basically anotehr homework assignment that you have to do in here.   Since the only thing left is the final, the assignments were reviews of each chapter.   

    Not only did the student sit down and work through them… but was anxious to go over them when finished.    And … most of the stuff was right.   

    However… if you also don’t get to class that day, and miss your second  exam (out of four), you’re probably still not going to pass the course. 

    I will say that the kiddo has learned a lot more math than a “zero tolerance” approach would offer….
