Traction, traction

trying to get some 🙂  has some fun word problems for subtraction tht would be good for analyzing for “what are the parts and what are the wholes?”  The other example I saw had about 200 “john had 39 cookies. Mary took 23 away. How many are left?” with 1 in 8 or so being a comparison problem (and no ‘missing addend’ in the group).  (I am serious enough about wanting traction that I did not click through to the Khan Academy’s lesson on subtraction word problems…)

Just for fun, I am going to see if anybody’s got math problems that are illustrated.
