LearnStreet

Whereas, I need to go back and figure out how to make JavaScript do as I wish, I figured I’d try another online teaching venue, to wit: LearnStreet.

Can’t say I approve of the pedagogy — an awful lot of the lessons seem to tell me to do something(without instruction), and let me click on hints ’til I get to “show me the answer.”   It’s the ALEKS of programming — procedure, procedure, procedure.   For my purposes, though, it’ll work, *and* it’s good for the “usually quiet, with interruptions” venue of this week.

Next week:   to DENVER to convene with developmental education innovators! Goal:   to have some kind of working lesson by then… (which reminds me to wonder just how useful it is to start “learning” JavaScript by having it do arithmetic and return letters from words and change them to upper case.   Guess I’ll find out soon!)
