If you care about spelling, you’re a “spelling snob…”

It bothers me (and I’m resisting saying “I’m sorry” before that, because I’m not) that the all so cute page at http://www.teacherweb.com/NY/Arlington/AlgebraProject/hf2.aspx says that pi is approx. equal to 3.1415 . In math, the tradition is that you round the number to that last place and the next digit is 9, so it should be 3.1416.  Or 3.141592653589793238462643383276 .   Yea, I havent’ forgotten, Mr. Cherry 🙂

It makes me assume that their textbook that they’ve written to use the Socratic method has the same attention to detail, so I’m not going to bother with it at this point. It also reminds me that yes, I shall inevitably have worse lapses in attention to detail in my attempts at creating materials… so I’ll include editing processes…
